Happy World Cardmaking Day – Using Stampin’ Up Markers on Stamps

By | October 4, 2014

This was my first purchase from the Seasonal Catalogue as I fell on love with the sample featuring these sets. My project today is pretty similar – though I must admit, I’m not that fond of one-layer cards, so I used Cherry Cobbler as my base and a mat of Very Vanilla on top.

Stampin' Up Christmas Cheer Catalogue Case-001

I was a little disappointed with the embossing folder at first as the pattern is larger than the mat size I would normally cut. But, all I had to do was cut it a little larger and the full pattern is visible – believe it or not, this was a light-bulb moment for me, lol!!

With this card, I have used my Stampin’ write markers to colour particular areas on the stamp. The first once, or maybe twice you do this, the colour isn’t so strong, but persevere because the second or third time, the colour will be as good as if you stamped it straight from an ink pad. Just try a couple of times on scrap paper first before taking it to your card.

I’ve also used my Blendabilities markers in Cherry Cobbler Dark to colour in the tiny pearls. I must admit, when using my pearl embellishments, I always use the medium and large ones first, and am left with lots of tiny ones, but these were just the perfect size to embellish this card with.

I hope you like today’s card. As always, here is a list of all the products I used. If you have any questions, do get in touch.

Remember the Stock up and Save offer only lasts until October 6th, so don’t miss out!
