Remembering with Lovely You Forget-me-Nots

Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where our theme is Remembrance. Of course, as we approach the month of November and Armistice Day, we remember those who have sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. However I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight a little blue flower with Lovely You that represents remembrance and is long-associated with dementia.

I stamped the little flower several times in a bouquet to mimic how the forget-me-not grows.  Now If you are a keen gardener, I’m sure you can spot many botanical differences in my stamped image and the real flower but, lets call it artistic licence!

The decorative dies in Autumn Essentials are amazing, I was so excited to use these border dies in my centre piece. If I’m honest, they were the main reason that I bought the whole bundle – but the pumpkins are also kinda cute too!

I do love a punch…

The double Lovely Labels Pick a Punch is so useful.  I was going to border my sentiment with another colour and the other punched edge, but to be honest I thought the card was busy enough.  However, this is a great advantage of the double punch allowing you to border your sentiment with a coordinating punched out piece, the next size up.

I thought of using the Forget me Not as a lovely lady I know, had recently started a ‘Memory Cafe’ in a local town. It had only just started a couple of months when the Covid Pandemic hit.  It was a real lifeline for families that were having to cope with this awful disease and just another of the many victims of this pandemic.  If you, or anyone you know, are struggling to cope, there are resources out there. Here in the UK, Dementia UK is just one of them.
